Vegan Tempeh “Meat” Sauce Ⓥ

INGREDIENTS:
  • 8 oz tempeh
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 white onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp nutritional yeast
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp fresh oregano 
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme 
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp white miso paste
  • salt & black pepper to taste
  • 16 oz package of spaghetti of choice
  • Optional garnishes: fresh basil & vegan parmesan

METHOD:
  • Cook the pasta according to pacakge instructions.
  • Add oil to a pan & sauté the diced onion for a few minutes. Add the minced garlic & cook another minute. Crumble the tempeh with your hands & add it cooking for about 5 minutes.
  • Add marinara sauce, nutritional yeast, Italian seasoning, oregano, thyme, garlic powder, onion powder & white miso paste & simmer for about 10 minutes. Season with salt & black pepper to taste.
  • Garnish with fresh basil & vegan parmesan. Enjoy!
